What this projection assumes

Investments grow at 5% a year and inflation runs at 3% a year.

Your bp shares are reinvested into a diversified portfolio at retirement.

Your bp final salary pension can't be taken before age 55, so it starts at retirement or age 55, whichever is later, and reduces by 4% for each year it's taken before age 60.

The State Pension starts at age 67 at £12,547.60 a year in today's money.

Every income source rises with inflation.

Withdrawals run to age 100, at a safe withdrawal rate of between 3% and 4% depending on how long that is.

Your desired income is set at the level it reaches on your retirement date and is then maintained in real terms.
